My paianting has gone to the birds..bird feathers that is!

3/31/11  Today I painted on something that I have never done before.  I painted a Turkey Feather! I have been wanting to try painting on them for some time now but I have been so busy with craft shows and orders that until today I just had not had the time.  I have had the feathers for over a year now so I dug them out of my stash of things to paint on and sat and painted this deer this afternoon.  I love trying something new and painting this was fun for me!  I can't wait to try painting another one!  Next I need to figure out what kind of frame and matting best suits this so I can display it.   A trip to Hobby Lobby is in my near future!

John Wayne Lantern

Today I put the finishing touches on this lantern that I painted.  A customer at our last show ask me if I would paint John Wayne on one of my lanterns.  He collects John Wayne stuff and loved my hand-painted lanterns.
I told him I would try and this is the finished lantern.....Behind is the pictures he e-mailed me that he wanted painted on it.  Besides painting the Duke on his horse Dollar...I painted black cows grazing in the background.

Upcoming show

My next show is the Deer & Turkey Expo at the Civic Center in Peoria, ILL March 24th, 25th and 26th.   For more info go to  http://www.deerinfo.com/ and click on Ill. This is a show my husband and I do together.  He makes beautiful antler chandeliers and lamps.  I paint glass lanterns, MAN CAVE SIGNS and other wildlife art work like this hand-painted Moose Antler for this type of show.  We are in booth # 813 so stop by and say "Hello".

Just another gourd

I love to paint gourds and here is another one of my favorites.  It is a penquin gourd.  I have a little trouble finding one the stands up on it's own, but I love the shape of them.  The bigger the better!

Thinking about Craft season

Well hello everybody!  It's that time of year when I start receiving contracts from various organizations wanting me to sign up to participate in their Festival or Craft Show or Bazaar.  I want to do them all....but I can only paint so fast and need to pick and choose which ones I want to do.  I have my favorites that I have done for years and that I look forward to.  Such a following of nice people that over the years I have become good friends with.  I look forward to seeing them at the shows and catching up on everything that is going on in their lives. So Chris Cringle and the Gifford Christmas Show (Gordiville) along with the Catholic Church Bazaar I will be doing for sure.  They are all Christmas shows....I want to pick some fall shows to do also.  I have gotten notices about two that I have done in the past and one new one that I am thinking about doing.  I love to paint Halloween and Christmas stuff!  Here is a gourd that I painted this year.  I sold out of the gourds I painted for my shows this year so will need to get busy and paint up some more. I have lots of idea's in my head of things I want to do this year.  Can't wait to get started!!
