I had a customer bring me this rusty old lantern and ask me to paint a scene on it. He wanted something with ducks and water. Here is what I painted for him. I have painted lots of lanterns over the years but this one is one of my own personal favorites...wish I could keep this one

Hunting in the back country
I recently finished painting a large saw blade for a customer. He commissioned me to paint a scene with a float plane and a camp sight in the back country. I love painting these large saws, but I don't enjoy standing at my kitchen island bar for hours to work on it! lol Here is the finished piece!!

Minnesota Farm Pond
I was commissioned to paint this saw with a picture of ducks on a pond. My husband and I went on vacation one year as we drove threw Minnesota we saw so many farm ponds full of ducks and geese. This painting brings me back to that trip and seeing all those beautiful birds.
By the way my customer loved it!!

I have been busy painting a cross cut saw for a customer this week. He ask for a fall scene with an old barn in the background and old wooden hunting stand in a tree along with deer in a field. I think I worked it all in. Here is what the finished piece looks like!

Hand Painted Turkey Feathers
I have been busy this week painting orders for my hand painted Turkey Feathers. It is always interesting to me to see where all my orders come from. This particular order is shipping out to Canada! It is pretty neat to think of all the states and country's that something I have painted has been shipped to! I listed an item in the Country Sample Magazine one time and my boys would keep track of all the different states that we shipped the item to. It was fun keeping track.

Darling Starlings
I was drawn to my window today to see what all the ruckus was about in our back yard. A group of Starlings were fighting over the food in the feeder. They were quiet noisy as they fought and pecked at on another over the food. Several birds set on the railing waiting their turn at the feeder. Apparently there is a pecking order when it comes to eating. I photographed these two birds as they set on the railing waiting their turn to eat. As I looked threw my lens I couldn't help but notice how pretty they were up close. In our neck of the woods Starlings are not well thought of, but as I looked at them closer I thought they were kind of pretty. I like the purple and teal colors in their feathers and all those little speckles. As I observed them I saw one bird fight off all the rest for his spot at the feeder. After he had is fill he left too. Just another day in the country! :)
